Chiswick House & Gardens.

Brand new for 2016, this is a series of events like no other, combining the best in live music, food & drink with stunning surroundings.

This June, Chiswick House and Gardens will play host to a series of outdoor performances all set over several days. From Opera to All Saints, Ronnie Scotts Jazz evening to family fun with Peppa Pig & Paw Patrol, Summer Sessions has something for everyone! Sit back, relax and experience fantastic entertainment in Chiswick’s stunning grounds and gardens, with delicious refreshments on hand and the setting sun overhead.

Tosca

Puccini’s classic tragedy, brings passion, murder and deceit to Chiswick Gardens, starring Paul Potts! As in previous years, the opera will be performed in English.

Tosca

This summer, Puccini’s classic opera Tosca comes to Chiswick House & Gardens performed in English as part of Summer Sessions 2016.  This tragic masterpiece will bring the passion, drama and emotion of Rome to the stunning setting of Chiswick Gardens.  A firm favourite for opera enthusiasts, and a perfect introduction for those new to the genre, Tosca is the timeless story of love, deceit and murder. Puccini’s beautiful melodies and the heart-wrenching final scene will stay with you long after the final curtain.  Performed open-air in the beautiful grounds of Chiswick House & Gardens this years opera will feature award-winning Tasmanian soprano Jassy Husk (ENO, Sydney Opera House) who will take on the iconic title role alongside soloists from national and international opera companies, including Simon Thorpe as Baron Scarpia. Cavaradossi will be performed by the critically acclaimed Tenor and winner of Britains Got Talent, Paul Potts!  With just two performances on Wednesday 15th and Thursday 16th June, book early to avoid disappointment.

With a career spanning over a decade, All Saints became one of the most symbolic British pop groups of the 1990s with 12million record sales, five number one singles, two multi platinum albums and two Brit awards.

We are delighted to announce that this year All Saints will be headlining the Saturday line up at Summer Sessions, support acts to include the incredibly talented Karen Harding & more!

Gates open to the Food & Drinks village at 3PM with support acts starting at 5PM, please note that All Saints will be performing at approximately 9PM.

Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Evening

For one night only, the trendiest venue in London comes to Chiswick House and Gardens, bringing the best in live jazz vocalists and musicians to this year’s Summer Sessions. Direct from their home in the heart of Soho, The Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Orchestra will be joined by special guest Chiswick-born Jazz trumpeter Guy Barker. Guest vocalists will include three-time UK Number One Jazz singer Georgie Fame, British Jazz award winner Claire Martin OBE and soulful powerhouse Vanessa Haynes, the acclaimed lead singer for Incognito.

Whether you’re a jazz fan, or looking for a really unique evening, this is definitely not to be missed!

Event information

Chiswick House

Chiswick House and Gardens is a beautiful and historic setting which includes the stunning 18th century villa, Chiswick House, surrounded by fabulous landscaped Italianate gardens.

Noise

Chiswick is a very urban area, so all visitors are encouraged to please do respect our neighbours by arriving and leaving quietly and not dropping litter.

Environmental impact

As an urban event in West London, the transport impact of Summer Sessions is comparatively low; most people attending will come by public transport or on foot.

Picnics and seating

Picnicking is an intrinsic part of the fun. Come early to set up your space with a view of the stage from 6:00pm. There will also be a wide range of food and beverage options available on site and available for purchase, please also do feel free to bring your own picnic.

Visitors are advised to either bring their own seating (blanket/folding chairs etc) as seating is not provided. As a courtesy during the opera performances, those with very large chairs and large parties wishing to chat should take a place at the rear. There will be some stock of seating available for hire on the day on a first come first served basis.

Lost property

There will be lost property facilities on site. Any lost property will be safely stored and a log taken of any items handed in. After the event has finished, you can contact us to see if your property was found by emailing info@summersessions.co.uk.

Please be alert and keep your belongings safe at all times.

Weather

Performances are not undercover and it may be cool even if the day has been hot. Performances will not be cancelled due to adverse weather.

Entrance

We do have a number of restrictions for entrance into the events.

  • Tickets are non-refundable.
  • Seating is not provided (although there will be some stock available to hire).
  • Dogs will not be admitted with the exception of registered guide or hearing dogs.
  • Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult
  • Management reserve the right to refuse admission.

Tickets

We are pleased to offer a range of ticket options for events from 15-19 June. There are 4 types of tickets available: General Admission (Adult standard, Child standard), Premium Enclosure and the hugely popular VIP experience. Children under the age of 4 are free, excluding Family Fun Day where children under the age of 2 are free. Hampers are available to pre-order with your ticket purchases.

Early Bird

Early Bird Tickets are available for a limited time only and offer a saving on standard ticket prices for entrance only (hampers not included in offer). We encourage you to take advantage of this discount which is available now until 24 April (All Saints Early Bird will finish on 1 May).

VIP ticket

VIP tickets are available for those wanting to enjoy the concerts in a luxurious, covered area with comfortable seats and table, a delicious gourmet food offering, private bars and complimentary glass of sparkling wine or cocktail on arrival.

Premium Enclosure

Visitors are able to pre-purchase Premium enclosure tickets for access to a covered area, seating with great views of the main stage and access to private cash bar during performances.

Picknicking

As picnicking is an intrinsic part of the fun of an outdoor music festival, gourmet hampers are available to pre-purchase with your ticket.

Please note

Seating is not provided (only in VIP area), please bring folding chairs and rugs for picnicking and warm clothing for the open air performance.

Tickets are required per event and entitles you to access the relevant area/s of the festival during operational hours on the date shown only, subject to standard terms and conditions.

Tickets are non-refundable (even due to adverse weather).

Food and drink is an integral part of any festival experience with Summer Sessions being no exception. Alongside our musical offerings, we have a range of delicious food and drink to appeal to all!

The VIP Experience

A sumptuous summer BBQ will be provided by our prestigious event caterers, Peyton Events. This exclusive package is limited in availability and shall include:

  • Fast track VIP entry in to the event

Hampers

Be it afternoon or evening, a great way to enjoy our summer music and performances is with a picnic. This year we are delighted to offer three wonderful gourmet Peyton & Byrne hampers available for pre-order and collection upon arrival. Hampers range in price from £40 – £65 and are ideal for 2 people to share!

Chiswick Hamper:

With traditional favourites such as Coronation chicken and sausage rolls, a variety of salad options and an array of desserts, this is the perfect hamper to share on a British Summer’s day.

Garden Hamper:

Those looking for a fresh, vegetarian-friendly option, look no further than the Garden Hamper, which includes Berkswell cheese tart, chickpea scotch eggs and potato salad. Finish off your feast with delicious desert options.

Deluxe Hamper:

Indulge in delicacies such as smoked salmon, grilled asparagus and roast beef. Our Deluxe Hampers also contain a wide array of delectable desserts, luxury greengage jam and refreshing drinks, including your very own bottle of sparkling wine.

Food Village

There will be an extensive food and drink village at Summer Sessions which will include a wide range of gourmet food with organic, vegetarian and vegan options available.

Bars

There will be a number of bars selling alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks on site, everything from Champagnes and Wines to Teas and Coffees. You must be over 18 years of age to purchase alcohol. We will operating a Challenge 21 policy, if you look under 21 we will ask you for ID, so please do not be offended.

Location

Just a stone’s throw from Central London, Chiswick boasts excellent rail (South West Trains connecting to London Waterloo), Underground (District, Piccadilly and Overground) and road links (A406, A206, A316, A4 and M4).

By Road the grounds are sign-posted from A4 west of Hogarth Roundabout (junction with A316) via brown tourist board signs.

The nearest mainline train station is Chiswick and nearest tube station Turnham Green on the District Line.

Chiswick House and Gardens are served by local bus routes (190 Hammersmith-Richmond and E3 Greenford-Chiswick).

Parking

Whilst we do have a limited number of onsite parking space available at A4 Car Park (off A4 westbound, postcode W4 2QN), we will be operating a first come first served basis.

Disabled parking available by pre booking only.

Gates

All gates will be open on entrance until dusk. However, after dark, only 2 exits will remain open (Rustic House and Great Chertsey Road Gate).

Taxis

Drop off and collection from A4 Car Park (No taxis are permitted inside the gardens).

Coaches

Coach parking is not available on site. Please park on Burlington Lane, 50 metres from the entrance.

Site

The event is on a green-field site – although there are some pathways, these do not run into the stage area (which will stand on grass). The majority of paths within the gardens are level or gently undulating and have a smooth or thin gravel surface. Access is available from all gates in to Chiswick House grounds.

On exit Rustic House Gates and Great Chertsey Road Gate will be open.

Weather and ground conditions may be variable.

It is advised to bring a torch as not all paths may not be lit when you leave the grounds.

Seating is not provided (only in VIP area), please bring folding chairs and rugs for picnicking and warm clothing for the open air performance.
